Many families don’t plan to have a hospitalized child. But, when they do, they usually end up there with only the items in their pockets, purse or car. The hospitality cart is designed to give patients and their families easier access to free items that help make their day spent bedside a little more comfortable. Hospitality carts are stocked full of items to help provide comfort — things that may be at home, things that may require a trip to the store or just eases the need to leave the child’s bedside in general.
The Mid-Michigan service area is broad. We mobilize hospitality cart services to areas of pediatric care where our brick and mortar House is situated a just a little bit too far for families in nearby regions to stay with us in the House.
Our carts are stocked with refreshments, like microwavable breakfast or lunch items, water, juice, coffee and more; personal care items, such as individual toiletries, hand sanitizer, chapstick and hand lotion; small toys and entertainment, like puzzle books, coloring supplies and activity kits for small children; and other comfort amenities like phone chargers, headphones and writing utensils. All of these items are provided to families and patients at no cost.
